报告摘要:

Quantum computing has demonstrated the potential to revolutionize our understanding and computational methods in various areas of theoretical and experimental physics. In this talk, I highlight our recent progress in studying hadron structures, in-medium jet evolution, and thermalization using various quantum computing techniques. With quantum computing, we provide a universal and conceptually clean path towards simulating physics and present numerical results on quantum devices, classical simulators, and tensor networks.


报告人简介:

I am Wenyang Qian (钱文扬), originally from Nanjing, China. I received my Ph.D. in 2020 under Professor James Vary at Iowa State University, and I am now a Marie

Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) postdoc fellow working with Professor Carlos Salgado at Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE) of the University of Santiago de Compostela. My doctoral research focuses on the understanding of hadron structures using light-front Hamiltonian formalism, where I studied meson spectroscopy and relevant hadronic observables. With the rapid development of quantum technologies, I have been working on solving bound-state and time-dependent problems using quantum computing. For the MSCA, my research focused on development of a scalable quantum simulation algorithm to study quantum jet simulation in medium. In addition, I have also been working on low dimensional and effective theories to study hadron structures and thermalization.
