报告摘要:

Hybrid nanostructures comprising two or more functional components have recently attracted extensive attention in the academic community and are emerging as hot research topic in many fields, owing to their enhanced or novel multifunctional properties. However, hybrid nanostructures that make strong permanent magnets are difficult to devise because it is challenging to precisely control 3D complex structures at the nanoscale, especially for aligning nanocrystals with their easy magnetization axes along a certain direction. More recently, we have made significant advances in designing 3D hybrid nanostructure in a well-controlled way, through developing new fabrication theory and technologies. The resulting bulk nanostructures that consist of hard and soft-magnetic crystals exhibit an unprecedented high energy product for this class of hybrid materials, with high fractions of soft-magnetic phase, and outperform their corresponding pure permanent magnet for the first time. These findings open up new opportunities for creating stronger permanent magnets with less rare earths.

In this talk, I will present and discuss the perspective, prospects, and problems of hybrid nanostructured permanent-magnetic materials.

报告人简介:

张湘义,燕山大学教授、博士生导师,亚稳材料制备技术与科学国家重点实验室学术带头人。

1987年本科毕业于北京钢铁学院(现北京科技大学)材料科学与工程专业,1999年博士毕业于中国科学院物理研究所凝聚态物理专业, 1999-2001年在德国斯图加特大学理论与应用物理研究所做洪堡学者。长期从事纳米磁性材料的研究,主持国家重大基础研究计划 “973”项目课题1项、国家自然科学基金项目12项。在Phys. Rev. Lett.、Adv. Mater.和Nano Lett.等刊物上发表论文185篇,论文被他人引用2000余次;获国家发明专利授权11项、国际发明专利1项;获省部级一等奖2项、二等奖2项。
