学术报告:Tailor the optical properties of semiconductor nanostructures for super resolution and integrat

报告简介:Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) is a direct band gap II-VI group polar semiconductor. It exhibits absorption bleaching and induced absorption under ultrafast laser excitation and is highly luminescent with large optical gain. In this talk, I will firstly present the recent progress in our group on tailoring the nonlinear transient absorption behaviour of CdSe nanowires towards achieving super resolution microscopy, where we demonstratedl/4.1NAresolution in far field. In the 2ndpart of the talk, I will talk about the endeavour we have made on utilising the high optical gain of CdSe to realize micron sized photonic lasers fabricated on well-aligned, closed packed nanorod film by electrophoretic deposition, the latter of which offers both outstanding optical properties and the ease of integration with any conductive substrates.

报告人简介:Dr. Ning Liureceived a B.S. degree in Physics from Peking University, China, in 1999 and a Ph.D. degree in Physics from University of California at Irvine in 2005. Prior to joining the University of Limerick,Ireland as a lecturer in 2013, she worked as postdoctoral research fellow in UK, Canada, IOP, and Ireland. She has specialties in scanning probe microscopy and ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy. Her current research interests focus on nanophotonics and plasmonics. She has published 23 journal articles, including papers in Nature nanotechnology, Nature chemistry, Physical review letters and etc.
