报告简介：Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) is a direct band gap II-VI group polar semiconductor. It exhibits absorption bleaching and induced absorption under ultrafast laser excitation and is highly luminescent with large optical gain. In this talk, I will firstly present the recent progress in our group on tailoring the nonlinear transient absorption behaviour of CdSe nanowires towards achieving super resolution microscopy, where we demonstrated l/4.1NA resolution in far field. In the 2nd part of the talk, I will talk about the endeavour we have made on utilising the high optical gain of CdSe to realize micron sized photonic lasers fabricated on well-aligned, closed packed nanorod film by electrophoretic deposition, the latter of which offers both outstanding optical properties and the ease of integration with any conductive substrates.
